Captured Life of Us

I decided after my sister moved out end of 2012 that i will redo her bedroom as my guest room....

I first gave the room 'n fresh coat of paint just to make it a clean canvas to work with.  I love the smell of paint ... it puts me in a good state of mind.....  I always say pick a theme and stick to it.  Most of my house is a modern contemporary style with classic elements here and there....


I selected  my color pallet as my starting point.  I wanted the room to have a old world feel.  Like the houses that Jane Austin describes in her books.

a Simple yet elegant wall paper with a complimentary paint will further enhance the theme of the room.  I love laminated floors they are easy to clean and add warmth to a room.  They work well if you have pets and are easy to clean....


I did not have a head board so used continental pillows to create height at the back of the bed.

I kept the colors neutral and used toils as my interesting pattern on my bed's scatter cushions.

While on my 2012 end of year break I got to see this Movie called Cheri.  I must say I have fallen in love with it.  It was just brilliant and of course one of my favorite actresses plays one of the leads (Michelle Pfeiffer).

The story is about these women that were basically prostitutes and made a lot of money from their clients.  Affording them a lifestyle that many will envy with maids and butlers and gorgeous Mansions.  The twist comes when Michelle;s Character Falls inlove with her rival and friend's much younger son called Cheri..  She soon learns that his mother has arranged for him to be married to another women and  this leaves Michelle's character heart broken.... But there is a sad twist to it all....

I will not give away the end but please get a copy and watch this movie it is Brilliant.....

My Dear Readers,

I have been off line for a while.  I think it is because my life was just filled to the top with issues to sort out.  I can not believe that 2012 is over and done with.  The year just flashed by.

Well this must have been the worst Christmas ever.  I did not even Celebrate it and it felt like just another day.  I must say i rested a lot, but it is time to get back into the swing of things.  I am opening a shop for my Lampshades in Johannesburg and i am so trilled about it.  Lampshades has sort of become my thing in 2012...

People love the shades and we have really put in our all to produce the best shades for our clients.  I am so sure this will be an even better year for the shades.  Any way enough about the shades.

Psalm 27 a psalm by David

This have become a psalm that has been resounding in my soul.  I Love this psalm:

1. The Lord is my Light and Salvation- whom shall I fear or dread? The Lordis the refuge and stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?
2. When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, come upon me to eat my flesh, they stumbled and fall.
3. Though a host encamp me, my heart shall not fear, though war arise against me, in this will I be confident.
4. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for and insistently require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life...

My Sister Tokkie and myself decided we needed a break from the city buzz and went to Toti in Natal for the weekend.  It was such fun...  Of course there was a bit of shopping....  We both needed a break from our busy lives and thought that the waves is always a good remedy for the soul...

I love Durban not only because the ocean Eco's of God's Glory, but because it reminds me of where my family is from.  You see although I was born in a small city Nelspruit in the east of South Africa most of my younger years was spend in Durban.  I love the people and as you might have already gathered I am a huge fan of Bollywood.  I love spicy food and there is nothing like a curry to put a smile on my face...

We usually stay in a apartment that is owned by a friend of mine and it is right at the beach.  Just opening the window and looking at the ocean waves rolling in makes me relax.  The ocean is an awesome thing and if you do not see the Glory of God in it I don't know if you will…

This 2005 Bollywood movie directed by Siddharth Anand has always been one of my favorite Bollywood movies to watch.  According to Wikipedia this is the First Indian Movie to be Filmed entirely filmed in Australia.  There is just something about Bollywood that makes me feel better.  The way they sing through hard and happy times.

So today I really need a pick me upper and Bollywood was just the cure.

The movie is about two young Indians that try living together.  They fall in love after first hating each other and when they expectantly find out that Amber (Staring Role) is pregnant they break up since Nick (lead role) doesn't want to get married or have children.  Amber feels different and decide to have the baby on her own.

This is a good movie about people and their problems relevant in today's world.

A must see.... I you have never watched Bollywood try it atleast once it might change your world.

And after all is said and done when i looked around on Saturday all I saw was God's spender and glory in what he created... How can we not see this?

I think it is because we live in a plastic world that was created by us... You might say but what are you talking about and i say look at the picture below....
